SPRING SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES

Noel Brandon-Kelsch, RDHAP
Noel Brandon-Kelsch is a speaker, writer and Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice.  She is passionate about oral health and has the uncanny ability to motivate and enlighten through her unique humor and cutting edge information.  She takes tough subject matter and presents it in such an interesting way that it becomes thought provoking even to those not involved in her industry.  She is the Infection Control Columnist for RDH magazine, a syndicated newspaper columnist and has been published in many books. Noel has received many national awards including Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures, RDH Magazine Sun Star Butler Award of Distinction, USA magazine Make a Difference Day award, Presidents Service award, Foster Parent of the Year, Hu-Friedy Master Clinician Award and as if that weren’t enough, she is also a five time winner of the Castroville Artichoke cook off! Noel is the immediate President of the California Dental Hygienists Association, Board member of Simi Valley Free Clinic, Sunstar America, GC America, Philip Life Style and Kerr Total Care, Key Organization Leader, member of Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures and the Speakers and Consultants Network.  In her rare spare time, she indulges in some of her favorite hobbies, which include underwater basket weaving, navel contemplation and watercolors.


Reneé Graham, Clinical Educator
Rene
é received a dental hygiene degree from Dalton College and both a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education degree from Valdosta State University.  Reneé brings 19 years of clinical experience in general and periodontal practices and 11 years of academic experience to the Division.  For the past ten years, she has held the position of Director of Dental Programs at Valdosta Technical College in Valdosta, Georgia.

Rene
é has served as a site visitor for the Commission on Dental Accreditation since 2003 and has been very active with regional testing agencies, the Georgia Dental Hygiene Educators Association, and dental hygiene/ dental assisting curriculum development for the State of Georgia.


Stacy McCauley
Stacy is a graduate of Kellogg Community College with 17 years of clinical practice experience.  After completing her Bachelor of Science Degree at Siena Heights College in Adrian, Michigan she relocated to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to obtain her Master of Science degree in Dental Hygiene Education.   She is a former clinical assistant professor at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, has published research in various dental hygiene journals, and has conducted clinical research.  She currently serves on the editorial review board for Modern Hygienist magazine and the Journal of Dental Hygiene, and is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and North Carolina Dental Hygienists’ Association.  Stacy is the Manager of Professional Education in the Carolinas and is the Manager of e-Learning for Philips Sonicare.
Bethany Valachi, PT, MS, CEAS
Bethany Valachi, PT, MS, CEAS is a physical therapist, dental ergonomic consultant and author of the book, “Practice Dentistry Pain-Free: Evidence-based Strategies to Prevent Pain and Extend your Career”.   She is CEO of Posturedontics®, a company that provides research-based dental ergonomic education and clinical instructor of ergonomics at OHSU School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon.  She lectures internationally and was invited to speak at the 2009 International Dental Ergonomics Congress in Krakow, Poland.  She has also provided expertise on dental ergonomics to faculty and students at numerous dental universities.  Bethany has been widely published in various peer-reviewed dental journals and has developed exercise videos specifically for dental professionals.   She offers free newsletters, articles and product reviews on her website at www.posturedontics.com.
